    About the Framingham Risk Score

The Framingham Risk Score is a widely used algorithm for estimating the 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD), including coronary heart disease and stroke.

This calculator considers multiple risk factors:

    • Age and gender
    • Total cholesterol level
    • HDL ("good") cholesterol level
    • Systolic blood pressure
    • Use of blood pressure medication
    • Smoking status
    • Diabetes status

The results provide an estimation of your cardiovascular risk and should be interpreted in consultation with a healthcare provider.

Based on: Wilson PWF, D'Agostino RB, Levy D, et al. Prediction of Coronary Heart Disease Using Risk Factor Categories. Circulation. 1998;97(18):1837-1847.
